Coworking is booming.

In the 12 years since the first cowork space opened in the US, the phenomenon has become ubiquitous in cities around the country. It’s the go-to working arrangement for independent contractors, from bustling Manhattan to quiet Midwestern suburbs. And for many forward-thinking companies, coworking has replaced traditional offices–they send employees to cowork spaces en masse, taking advantage of lower costs and more flexible contracts.

In this report, Haven Insights uncovers what it takes to run a cowork space successfully–why members love their cowork spaces, and what cowork space owners are doing to enhance their members’ experience.

We conducted this research with current & prospective cowork space owners in mind. We designed all questions and findings in order to empower entrepreneurs in the coworking & commercial real estate industries who want to learn what makes a cowork space successful.

The findings in this report are based on a national survey of 304 cowork space members and a series of in-depth interviews with cowork space owners, conducted between May and August 2017.

We couldn’t be more excited to share these findings with you.
